TapData 4.22: StarRocks View Sync and Better Visibility for Production Tasks
Production data pipelines are not only about moving rows from one database to another. Teams also need to reuse logic already defined in source systems, understand where long-running tasks are in their lifecycle, and make deployments easier to prepare and maintain.
TapData 4.22 addresses those day-to-day needs with full synchronization of StarRocks views, clearer task progress and milestone information, a simpler License SID workflow before first startup, and additional security and stability improvements.
Synchronize StarRocks views alongside tables
When StarRocks is used as a source, TapData 4.22 supports full synchronization of views.
Users can select views in addition to tables when choosing synchronization objects. This makes it easier to include existing StarRocks views in downstream data delivery and application flows, without first converting them into separate table-based synchronization objects.
For organizations that use StarRocks views to encapsulate reusable calculations or operational logic, this expands what can be delivered through TapData without changing how those upstream models are organized.
See full-sync progress and task history more clearly
Visibility becomes increasingly important as pipelines move into production and data volumes grow.
TapData 4.22 improves how teams see node-level full synchronization progress, historical full-sync duration, task milestones, and run records.
These views give operators better context for questions such as:
-
How far has the current full sync progressed?
-
How long did previous full-sync runs take?
-
Which milestone has the task reached?
-
What happened during earlier task runs?
The goal is not to add more charts for their own sake. It is to make routine operational checks easier and give teams a clearer history when they need to investigate a delay or explain task behavior.
Simpler License SID retrieval before first startup
TapData 4.22 further improves the
./tapdata sid workflow.Teams can retrieve the License SID before the first startup without first filling in startup parameters. That removes an unnecessary setup dependency and makes deployment preparation more straightforward, particularly in environments where licensing and infrastructure steps are handled by different teams.
Additional production-focused improvements
TapData 4.22 also includes further work across task conditions, query performance, usability, and security.
Relative-date conditions are improved, shared-mining query performance receives optimization, and selected third-party dependencies are upgraded to address known security risks.
These changes are intentionally less prominent than the StarRocks and task-visibility updates, but together they strengthen the production experience around long-running, heterogeneous data pipelines.
A more observable path from source to delivery
TapData 4.22 is primarily a production-readiness release.
StarRocks view synchronization expands the set of source objects that can enter a delivery flow. Better progress, milestone, and run-history views help operators understand what tasks are doing. The improved SID workflow reduces deployment friction, while security and runtime updates continue to harden the platform underneath.
For teams managing real-time data delivery across multiple systems, these changes make the platform easier to operate without changing the core workflow they already know.
